Email Add On to Track Deals

Overview

Email add-on offers the capability to automatically add emails and calendar events to the opportunity history and CRM calendar, respectively. This feature is highly valued by sales representatives as it saves time and provides quick access to opportunity details without opening the CRM application. By automatically linking emails and calendar events to relevant opportunities, sales reps can focus on their selling tasks while ensuring that all communication and activities related to an opportunity are tracked and easily accessible.

The Problem

The current email add-on interface is cluttered, confusing, and lacks effective organization tools, resulting in users feeling overwhelmed and disengaged. Users require a more intuitive and user-friendly interface that can help them manage their deals efficiently while accessing the emails, it reduces the time for sales reps with quick access to the opportunity data.

The Process

Qualitative Interviews

In order to improve design, it is important to gather user feedback and understand their pain points. I have conducted User interviews to gain insights on areas requiring improvement and created a comprehensive document, highlighting common pain points and areas for enhancement based on the feedback collected. This user feedback played a crucial role in identifying opportunities for improvement and driving positive change for end-users.

Compititive Analysis

I conducted a competitor analysis by identifying key competitors and evaluating their features to determine their strengths and weaknesses. This process helped us to identify opportunity areas for our product, by identifying areas where competitors may have a weakness or gap in their offerings. By leveraging this information, we can strategically design our product to provide additional value and differentiate ourselves in the market.

Personas

Due to a tight project timeline, I quickly collected data from the marketing team and gathered insights on buyer personas' goals and challenges. Additionally, I gathered data from various product experts on user goals, expectations, and challenges. Through this research, I created a personas that provided a deeper understanding of our target audience's needs and preferences.

Ideation

As a startup, we face a significant challenge of limited resources and time. Therefore, we must constantly iterate our designs to ensure that they are achievable within time and technical constraints while still providing value to our users. Despite these challenges, we have listed possible features to deliver in the first version of our product.

Designs

Following the process of scoping and identifying features, I began working on the design. After receiving approval from the CEO and Product Head on mockups, I conducted usability tests with Sales Reps. Once I was confident in the design, I created high fidelity mockups and specifications using Sketch and created and prototype in Invision to show the interactions.

Development & Launch

During the handover process, the company was acquired, and the engineering team had to shift their focus and prioritize other features in order to fulfill customer commitments.
